Giulio Colla

I'm Giulio. Italian by design, Dutch by relocation, cybersecurity person by stubbornness. I'm an Associate Partner at Kyndryl, where I work on AI governance, digital trust, and technology transformation.

It started in Milan in 2009 with an anti-money laundering internship I wasn't supposed to keep. I kept it. Five years at NTT Data taught me that the best way to understand a system is to break it on purpose.

Then love called. My fiancée Diletta was already in the Netherlands, so I packed up and joined EY's cybersecurity team in late 2014. I spent nearly a decade there, helping clients across Europe becoming more resilient and secure, and covering various roles at regional and global level. Somewhere in the middle I took a detour to Abu Dhabi for a local cybersecurity company. But I missed the rain and the wind, and went back to the Netherlands quite soon and went back to EY.

As of July 2025, I am part of the Global Security and Resiliency practice of Kyndryl, focusing mainly on AI and agentic AI security.

I need to understand how things work. I take them apart, put them back together, and see if they're clearer. Sometimes this produces articles. Other times it produces side ventures. The stuff that doesn't fit neatly into a corporate role but keeps my brain honest.

Bocconi for the bachelor's, Cattolica for the master's, CISSP because apparently I enjoy exams. I was a very decent alpine skier and an extremely well-dressed but mediocre tennis player, until a car crash in 2007 rearranged my priorities rather abruptly.

These days I ride bikes with our two kids and take long walks with our English Pointer, Pois, who has never once fetched anything on command. I read too much, cook Italian food for anyone willing to sit down, play classical guitar badly, and thanks to my son Leo, I've rediscovered that building giant Lego sets is a perfectly legitimate use of a Saturday afternoon. My Spotify oscillates between Chopin and screamo, which probably tells you everything you need to know.
